Our new arrival!!

Joshua arrived in a bit of a hurry on 23 April. Paul forgot a camera and we realised on the way to the hospital, luckily we didn’t go back otherwise wee Joshua probably would have been born in the front seat We are both so happy he arrived safely! Lots of you lovely people have asked me to post photos so here you go!!

James is the perfect big brother!

I have got loads to share from the last couple of frantic weeks before Joshua was born, I will post over the next week or so!!

Jessie and David – First Anniversary!

Jessie contacted me to organise a surprise 1st wedding anniversary shoot for David. We talked about locations, style etc and I got super excited! When Paul and I first got married I used to buy him stuff that I wanted for presents until he very kindly pointed that out. I had my fingers and toes crossed that David would be as excited about this shoot as Jessie. No finger crossing needed, he was really keen or perhaps it was just that fact he got to snuggle up to his gorgeous wife in front of the camera… anyway.. we walked around town, played with some off camera flash and finally headed up Mt Eden for some romantic sunset shots.

We found the cutest stairwell just off Queen St, gorgeous light, couple in love, couldn’t really ask for much more!!

Finally we headed up Mt Eden to make the most of the gorgeous golden light!

Yvonne & Gary – Married!!

Yvonne and Gary were married in a gorgeous ceremony at Bridgewater Estate surrounded by family and friends. Despite the predicted weather bomb the rain kept away (apart from a few spits) and we made the most of Bridgewater’s lovely gardens!

Yvonne looked stunning and Gary scrubbed up pretty well himself !

While I was shooting the girls getting ready, Paul was off getting to know the guys!

Loved the bridesmaid’s dresses!! Such a gorgeous colour!

Bridgewater has one of the longest walks to get to the aisle I have seen! In full view of guests as well, that is how you make an entrance!

Then the sun came out!!

After the family photos we wandered around the gorgeous gardens.

I love all the bush clad walkways, so private and the little pockets of light were divine!

Amber & Valance – Married!!!

Amber and Val were married in a gorgeous ceremony at Soljans Estate Kumeu. The day before was torrential rain and we watched big storm clouds circle round the whole day, we were so lucky that apart from a few spits during photos we were ok! Paul started the day with the boys and I headed over to the girls. Love Amber’s killer heels.

Isabella in golden light

Isabella’s mummy (the super talented Vanessa of www.bellacupcakes.co.nz) and I have been planning this shoot for what seemed like an age! We luckily only had to postpone once while we waited for the perfect evening. Miss Isabella was a dream, super chatty four year old loveliness. We started with a teddy bears tea party while we waited for the sun to get a bit lower.

We had time for a quick play and I couldn’t resist some vintage love.

Then off to my favorite recently discovered field.

Even with the gorgeous evening light I couldn’t resist some black and white.

I truely can’t choose my favorite from this shoot!

Emilie’s clever mummy found a photo she loved with a mirror, so brought one to the shoot to give it a whirl.

New beginnings…

We don’t usually post personal stuff on our blog but this is a biggie!

We are extending our family and our next arrival is due early May. We are super excited to meet him (yes it’s a boy) and James is sooo excited to be a big brother, the wait is just too long as far as he is concerned! We are taking some time off from shooting, our last wedding is at the beginning of April and our next one isn’t until October, to make room for some much needed family time.

I am still available for portraits up until the end of March but spaces are limited, so let us know if you would like to book one. It will be 5 years this year since we started Photographique and we havn’t really taken a break, it’s going to be nice to have some time to think, reassess our priorities and, re-focus our creative energies make sure we are still going in the direction we want to be. Spending time working on our business rather than in our business.

Next wedding season is shaping up to be business as usual!

Stephanie, Wayne and Eddie!

I love summer, especially daylight savings! I meet Stephanie, Wayne and their gorgeous puppy Eddie one evening after work (for them) in Cornwall Park. Eddie was such a good wee puppy and of course Stephaine and Wayne were lovely to work with!!

We started in a paddock that had a few cows (which I didn’t realise meant loads of cow poo) and cows are very nosy so it wasn’t long before they all wandered over to investigate!

Alex & Brad – Married!

Alex and Brad decided to do their photos first. Paul and I both love when couples do this, gives us so much flexibility and also means we get to capture that precious first look. The spot they chose was gorgeous and my new favorite (and secret!) location!! Love the concentration in the second shot!

I think the first shot was when Paul told the boys they looked beautiful, then realised what he had said and quickly changed it to handsome

No lip reading required for when Brad first saw Alex.

Off to the ceremony!

Northridge was a stunning venue!

Alex had a second gorgeous dress for the reception. Perfect excuse for more photos!

We took this sneaky photo when Brad had popped away to grab his speech, second photo was Brad busting us on his return!
